The Shorefast Foundation and the Fogo Island Arts Corporation commissioned Todd Saunders of
Saunders Architecture to create a series of six artists’ studios on Fogo Island, which is located outside of Newfoundland, Canada. The organization is committed to
preserving the Islanders’ traditions and rejuvenating the island through
the arts and culture. This project was ideal for Saunders, who happened
to grow up in Newfoundland. These buildings represent three of the six studios, which are located
on beautiful, dramatic sites. We think we could be creative here, especially with furniture selection!
