Fresh at Forty!

Image
We're not getting older, we're getting better. It's our 40th year and we would like to thank everyone who has helped us reach this milestone. All the friends, family, clients, vendors that have made it so much fun. We have been filling our showrooms with tons (literally) of fresh furniture and have our largest selection ever. We hope you will stop in and say hello!

Whiskey A Go Go

Image
Thomas Schneider is a recent cabinetmaking graduate who designed this whiskey cabinet named Harper. Made out of ash and folded paper, the cabinet stands tall almost like a butler handing you a drink. He says “Since cabinetmaking is usually seen as an antiquated discipline in furniture making and design, I wanted to show that it is possible to create a contemporary piece of work using very traditional techniques.” There’s something about this cabinet that we love. A lot.

The Living Cube

Image
Germany-born, Switzerland-based designer Till Koenneker took matters into his own hands when he moved into a studio apartment that had no storage. Building a simple cube-like design, called The Living Cube , he found space for his vinyl collection, TV, clothes, and shoes. On top of the cube, Koenneker was able to incorporate a bed for guests and inside houses a much-needed storage space. We love multi-functional furniture that's why we stock our showrooms with so much of it!

Get my gourd..

Image
These Bulawayo baskets by Design Afrika  are handmade by traditional artisans from all over Africa as part of an effort to provide a sustainable income to indigenous people and preserve their local traditions. These dramatically proportioned one of a kind baskets are inspired by the over-sized vessels of South African potter  Louise Gelderblom  – but we find them very Octoberish and gourd-like .
