Hi Ho Silver!

Image
Fascinated by the history of Viennese Silver, Thomas Feichtner created a fruit bowl for the renowned Wiener Silber Manufactur . Rather than opting for the traditional rounded bowl body, Feichtner chose to put the fruit on a pedestal. It appears as though the fruit might tumble down the sides where the legs have been formed, but instead it becomes wedged. Reminiscent of Feichtner’s Linz Hocker stool , the bent silver body achieves a sculptural look. Nice, eh?

The City Series

Image
Philadelphia-based designer and craftsman James McNabb took inspiration from cityscapes and chose to mesh his woodworking skills into this series of urban landscapes. The über detailed sculptures are made from discarded scrap wood and each abstract architectural “building” is unique. We don’t know about you but we still get excited when we view a city from an airplane or a tall building. There’s something about that perspective that is so fascinating.  The City Series from McNabb & Co. , give that same dizzying feeling. Wood always turns us on>
