Several tons of black peppercorns, cardamom, turmeric, paprika, cumin seeds, ginger, chilliand coriander were rigged to explode in perfect sync with a bespoke musical composition.

In the 1980s, Ettore Sottsass (1917-2008) was one of the founders and the leading figure of Memphis, the Milan design group famous for brightly colored postmodern furniture, lighting and ceramics. Its collection includes glassworks, and large sculptural cabinets made of acrylic, aluminum and tropical wood. Mr. Sottsass was known for his playfulness and wit as well as his whimsical ornamentation. His Adesso Però stained-wood bookshelf from 1992 looks like three red lightning bolts shooting into a red platform. His Tahiti lamp, from 1981, resembles a tropical bird with a long yellow neck and boxy red beak. He has also designed iconic electronic products for Olivetti, as well as beautiful glass and ceramics.
